Operations
Significant and established operational capability
Through its mining subsidiary, Guyana Industrial Minerals (GINMIN), First Bauxite has the capacity to supply 340,000 tonnes of high purity refractory-grade bauxite per annum.
Currently the only proven deposits of this specific bauxite for refractory applications are in Guyana and China, and the only other refractory-grade bauxite operation in Guyana is under Chinese ownership.
Extensive proven reserves
The current life-of-mine in Guyana is at least 20 years. Studies and projects are underway to define additional resources that would further extend mine life. In addition to its world-class bauxite reserves, the mine is unique in also having reserves of high purity silica sand, clays and kaolin.
